Our beliefs

Our church has no formal creed or written constitution but our beliefs are biblically-based and are those orthodox beliefs which have traditionally been held by the Christian church. Some of our foundational beliefs are listed here.

We believe in the Trinity of the Godhead – the one true God who lives eternally in three persons : the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the divine inspiration of the Bible as the Word of God and accept its entire trustworthiness and sole authority in matters of faith and conduct.

We believe in the inherent equal dignity and worth of all men and women, created male and female in the image of God.

We believe that man is a fallen creature, corrupted by sin and in need of salvation, which can only be found in Jesus Christ and our acceptance of Him by faith as Saviour.

We believe that Jesus Christ was God the Son become incarnate as man for our salvation – born of the Virgin Mary, truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.

We believe that Christ’s death on the Cross was voluntary, substitutionary and an atonement for sin which was acceptable to God on behalf of all those who believe.

We believe in the physical resurrection of Christ from the dead and his ascension to heaven, where He intercedes for us at God’s right hand.

We believe that all who put their trust in Jesus Christ become children of God and indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the church, made up of all true believers, is the bride of Christ, symbolised by human marriage, which is an exclusive union of one man and one woman.

We believe that Jesus Christ will return again in power and glory to the earth for his people.
